Below are the installation details:
Technical and mechanical skills are required to install your motor. The easiest installation can be done on a standard 26” V-shaped frame with a 25 mm tubular profile, but it can also be mounted and adapted to other bicycles, in which case it must be adapted to the existing conditions. These motors also have adapters for non-standard frames - oval or larger diameters - so that the motor can be attached to the frame. Even if at the beginning of the assembly you will spend more time on finishing and adjustment, in the end you will ensure thousands of kilometers of operation without operational incidents.
Assembly :
1. Mount the drive pinion on the wheel as follows:
a. Remove the bicycle chain
b. Unscrew the nuts that secure the wheel to the rear fork
c. Remove the wheel from the fork
d. Remove the pinion flange assembly consisting of 2 rubber rings and 2 steel half-lunes
e. Cut each rubber ring only once. Very important! CUT ONLY BETWEEN THE HOLES!
f. Proceed to mount the two rings, each on one side of the spokes so that the cuts are not in the same direction
g. Mount the gear pinion on the outside by inserting screws (9 pcs) through the pinion, outer rubber ring, through the spokes, inner rubber ring, steel crescent, Grover washers, flat washers, M6 nuts. In the first phase, just tighten all the screws without tightening them.
h. Then tighten them one by one without tightening each one all the way. This tightening is done gradually, with equal force until all the fixing screws are well tightened.
i. Check the flatness of the pinion. The deviation (inclination) from the vertical plane cannot be greater than 1.5 mm. Otherwise, adjust the screws that determine the deviation. Reinstall the wheel, taking into account its centering when tightening it on the fork. 2. Installing the motor on the metal frame:
Install the motor on the metal frame of the bicycle.
If the frame has a round section and a small diameter, then the mountings that it is equipped with from the factory will be used.
ÎIn the case of another type of frame, the screw with an extension plate will be used. In general, the vertical bar is of round section so that it will not pose any problems for fixing. The extension screw will be used for the oblique bar (the front one). A pre-assembly will be made (with the exhaust pipe) so as to determine the optimal position for the engine on the frame. The position of the drive sprocket will also be monitored so that the slot in its cover is located so as to allow the assembly and operation of the drive chain.
a. After marking the front mounting point (in the case of a large diameter frame), a hole will be made in the frame so as to allow the mounting screw to pass through the extension.
b. Attach the front mounting plate
c. Remove the front engine mounting crescent
d. Pass the engine mounting screws through the holes in the mounting plate. Insert the Grover washers, flat washers and M6 nuts, then tighten them with equal force and symmetrically. A final positioning of the engine will be made so that the engine is centered along the frame axis. Check whether the exhaust touches the frame or flange and whether, when mounted, it comes into contact with the pedals. If one of the situations occurs, the engine will be repositioned so as to eliminate these inconveniences.
Recommendations:
To eliminate vibrations and the sliding of the engine on the frame, rubber sleeves can be used. At the same time, damage to the paint on the frame is avoided.
If necessary, washers or spacers can be inserted between the fixing plate and the frame so that tightening the nuts is easier.
3. Mounting the exhaust:
Check whether the exhaust touches the frame or flange and whether it comes into contact with the pedals when mounted. If one of the situations occurs, the engine will be repositioned so as to eliminate these inconveniences.
Mount the exhaust, avoiding contact with the frame, mounting flanges or engine. Otherwise, reposition the engine. Use the exhaust gasket as well as the flat and groover washers.
4. Installing the carburetor:
Install the carburetor on the intake pipe. Tighten the fixing screw on the fixing clamp at the carburetor - intake pipe connection. The carburetor will be mounted with the air intake pipes down.
5. Fixing the controls on the handlebar:
ÎBefore mounting the cables, their sleeves can be removed and the cables can be greased with petroleum jelly, after which they can be inserted back into their sleeves. Mount the throttle lever on the right side. Unscrew the cover held in place by 2 screws and insert it onto the handlebar grip. The upper cover contains a pin that secures and prevents the lever support from rotating. Check the position of this pin on the handlebar, mark the hole and start drilling with a drill and a power drill. Once this hole has been made, the upper cover of the lever can be mounted and the two screws tightened. The free end is fixed to the carburetor cover.
b. The clutch lever is mounted on the left side so that the brake and the rubber handle can also be inserted.
At the free end of the clutch cable, the end piece is fixed by tightening the screw. This is positioned on the cable so that the control rod no longer has any degree of freedom and does not rotate around the axis. If it is not adjusted correctly when the clutch lever is activated, the engine will not disengage and will remain permanently attached to the gear pinion.
6. Fixing the fuel tank to the frame:
Fix the fuel tank to the upper horizontal frame towards the handlebars. As in the case of fixing the engine, rubber sleeves can be used. Tighten the 4 fixing screws, taking into account the avoidance of any control cables of the bicycle. Attach the feed valve to the feed pipe together with the sealing gasket. Additional gaskets can be used if the situation requires it.
7. Mounting the electronic ignition:
Fix the electronic ignition on the bicycle frame. Make sure there is enough cable to power the spark plug from the engine. For fixing, you can use the metal clamp from the set or a quick plastic clamp passed through the fixing holes of the electronic ignition. It will be considered to place it as far away from the engine as possible in order to reduce heat transfer from the engine.
8. Spark plug installation/removal:
&At this point, remove the spark plug if it is installed in the engine. This can be removed using the spark plug wrench from the set.
The spark plug will be refitted ONLY at the end of the installation by following these steps:
If the spark plug has a cap on its tip, then it is unscrewed and removed to be able to insert the plug into the spark plug head. If this is omitted, the card may be damaged.
9.Installing the tensioner:
Install the chain tensioner on the horizontal fork, leaving the tension wheel in the minimum position.
Removing the sprocket cover
Remove the cover that houses the drive sprocket. Unscrew the 3 screws using a straight screwdriver.
10.Mounting the chain:
Mount the chain on the drive sprocket. This is done using the spark plug wrench with which the engine shaft is rotated. At the same time, the chain is also wound. The other end is passed over the sprocket on the wheel and also over the tensioner. This way, the required length of the chain can be estimated. Keep in mind that the locking link is also inserted.
Reducing the chain size:
Reduce the length of the chain. After it has been marked to the required length, proceed to remove the bolts. A 3 mm mandrel, a bushing and a hammer can be used. Repeat the step Mounting the Chain, insert the safety link and the safety.
11.Adjusting the tensioner wheel:
Lift the tensioner wheel in the required position so that the chain is stretched sufficiently but not excessively tight. Tighten the fixing screws of the tensioner and the tension wheel.
12.Last checks:
Make a few forward/backward movements of the bicycle with the clutch lever pulled to see the flatness of the chain with the 2 sprockets and with the tension wheel. If the situation requires it, adjust the problematic components.
